Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at steve@wannerelectric.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

You should consider an electrical panel upgrade if your home still uses a fuse box, your breakers frequently trip, your lights flicker when large appliances turn on, or you are adding high-power equipment such as an EV charger, hot tub, or workshop equipment. Upgrading your electrical panel helps your home safely handle today's electrical demands while complying with current electrical codes.

A: Yes. Wanner Electric installs Level 2 EV chargers, including Tesla Wall Connectors and other popular brands, in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, Moore, and Bethany. We’ll check your electrical panel and the planned charger location, then recommend the right circuit and installation approach. We can also help with permits and inspections when required. Contact us to discuss your project and request an estimate.

Yes. If certain outlets, lights, or rooms have lost power while the rest of your home is operating normally, the problem is often a tripped breaker, a GFCI outlet that has tripped, or a loose electrical connection. Wanner Electric LLC can safely diagnose the exact cause and make the necessary repairs to restore power.

A Level 2 EV charger requires a dedicated 240-volt electrical circuit, similar to the circuit used for an electric Oven. We evaluate your existing electrical panel to ensure it has sufficient capacity, install the proper breaker and wiring, and professionally mount your charging station for safe, reliable overnight charging.

Not necessarily. A Level 2 charger typically needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit, and whether your existing electrical service can support it depends on the home’s electrical load and panel condition. Wanner Electric can review your setup and perform a load calculation. If more capacity is needed, we can discuss options such as load management or a panel or service upgrade.

A standby generator is permanently installed outside your home and connects directly to your electrical system and fuel supply, typically natural gas or propane. If utility power fails, an automatic transfer switch detects the outage and transfers your home's electrical load to the generator within seconds.

The right generator depends on which circuits and equipment you want to run during an outage. We review your home’s electrical loads, including the starting requirements of your HVAC equipment, and discuss whether a partial-home or whole-home system is a good fit. As a Generac-certified installer, Wanner Electric can help plan the generator and transfer equipment for your needs.

Yes. Whole-home surge protection helps protect expensive electronics and appliances from lightning strikes, utility switching, and everyday power surges. It provides an extra layer of protection for televisions, computers, HVAC equipment, kitchen appliances, and smart home devices.

No. A whole-home surge protector protects your home's electrical system from larger surges entering through the utility service. High-quality surge-protecting power strips can still provide additional protection for sensitive electronics.

Yes. We install recessed LED lighting in both new construction and existing homes. Recessed lighting provides clean, energy-efficient illumination and can dramatically improve the appearance of kitchens, living rooms, hallways, offices, and outdoor living spaces.

Yes. LED lighting uses significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs and lasts much longer, helping reduce both your energy bills and maintenance costs.

Yes. We install ceiling fans, replace outlets and switches, add dedicated circuits, install GFCI and AFCI protection, and perform many other residential and light commercial electrical services.

Absolutely. Electrical troubleshooting is one of our specialties. We diagnose flickering lights, tripping breakers, dead outlets, partial power outages, and many other electrical issues using professional diagnostic techniques.
